Why did the moderators >allow this ? > >At last: make peace, not war ....... > >Best wishes >Peter Hello Peter, I think that you as insider (and on the payroll of Ossi Weiner) very well know how things work and that you better than that. But since you brought the subject up let me explain how things work. Book preparation for important tournamemts is the job of Jeroen. For London he created 6-8 different books for Tiger and Rebel. The volume of 6-8 books is needed to change books in case things are going not well (losing games) to avoid you get trapped a next round losing another game because of the same opening. The original plan was that Jeroen and I would go to London to operate Rebel and Tiger. But as you know Jeroen got sick (nothing serious) and couldn't travel. As a result the choice was a) cancel the WMCC or b) find myself another operator. Various names were consulted and it seemed Marcus Kastner was available and willing to do the job and so it happened. During the tournament there has been one call to Jeroen at home because there was something wrong with the Tiger book and I have spoken to Jeroen for a solution. I remember Jeroen and Marcus spoke after that. It could be very well Jeroen adviced me to play the Belgrade Gambit against Shredder I really don't remember anymore but the Belgrade was indeed the secret weapon of Jeroen in London and was practiced twice. Jeroen is boss concerning the opening choice as he obviously is the most experienced one and has the best knowledge. It works this way since ages. However being not present in person and the lack of information (no games) his data was not good enough to make the right decissions. So advices yes but in the end it was me who had to decide and if needed overrule Jeroen because he was not in London in person. That's the whole story from my side. Like to add some notes.... I am not in agreement Marcus has used inside information in favor of Rebel or Tiger. First it is not true and secondly people like Marcus Kastner are asked to operate and/or beta-test chess programs by producers all the time, sometimes by competing companies at the same time. Third if Marcus Kastner is asked by another company to operate a competitor program (not Rebel or Tiger) next year I wonder how Marcus Kastner can use his so called inside knowledge against Rebel or Tiger. This is a non issue as next year a) programs are totally different b) opening books are totally different. That's why for me there was absolutely no need to make an non-disclosure agreement with Marcus Kastner as leaking information (even if he wanted) can not harm the results on important next tournaments. And if my information is right there was no non-disclosure agreement between Marcus and Ossi Weiner when he was a beta tester for Shredder. The suggested leak of information suggested by Ossi Weiner is something that is not real. Besides of that it never happened. Now why do I have the feeling you know all of this?
