>I have added your suggestion to the wish list. Thanks, I would like to see Rebel/Tiger become as convenient to use as the Chessbase UI programs. >The My Documents folder is tied to a specific logged in user, and as such in >multi user usage it makes sense. CM (and just about any game I've seen) allows multiuser operation (with customized settings) without insisting on piling itself into "My Documents" (you can always use windows APIs to find out who is logged in). As suggested earlier that's a bad place to use for many reasons. If you wish to have user-sensitive config, it is much more flexible for you and end-user (and more portable, too) to keep the files in your own directories & files, not registry or My Documents or Windows\system etc. Most lockups in Windows come from incompatible DLL's all piling up into the same place, wiping out the same named DLL's from other vendors. As a developer you will have the least trouble, the most portable code and the fewest customer support calls and complaints if you bundle all your stuff in your own folder, data, configuration, exes and dll's. Getting mingled into the Microsoft's windows\ or windows\system\ or "My...\" folder & registry cesspool is like eating your dinner in a public toilet at a train station. The trivial amount of development time it saves (if any at all) is paid back many times over when your product gets out.
