For the last several versions, the team was given less than a year to develop the next version. With one FULL year between versions, about 6 to 8 weeks went to bug fixes in the previous version, and the final 12 weeks went to Alpha and Beta testing (which usually means that features are "finished" and nothing new can be added). Therefore, the entire design and development cycle for each new version of Chessmaster has recently usually only been about 8 months, which isn't much when you consider all of the things that the team would LIKE to do. This is why items that would please users of THIS board, but would likely be completely ignored by the other 95% of Chessmaster users (auto232 is a good example) tend to get shoved back to "the next version" time and again. jm
