Indeed a beautiful game! I analyzed the game quickly via a quick run through using Fritz6a. It is amazing how Gambit Tiger builds up a long term attack, using pawn sacrifices, mysterious preparatory moves, moves that somehow make progress however unclear it may be, etc. It's progress was not completely apparent to my human eye, but it did the job nonetheless. Few program really know how to handle any long term gambits--they usually want to regain the material immediately. Gambit Tiger, on the other hand, seems to know how to ratchet up the pressure, keeping a positional and tactical grip on the opponent until the nut cracks. [An interesting question is how well Gambit Tiger understands defending *against* a gambit, not just how well it conducts an attack after its own gambit. For example, I wonder how well Gambit Tiger would have defended against A. Hoffman's Benko Gambit (one of the Rebel GM Challenge matches--BTW Rebel lost).] Fritz6a didn't 'understand' a lot of the moves for Gambit Tiger or Shredder (in the short time I gave it to analyze). Nor did I! I will do an overnight analysis then review the Fritz6a output. --Steve
