The RPM figure is useful, but only in context of gear ratio. It is very difficult for chess programmers to supply you with gear ratio figures, but RPM's are easy. You can't compare them, because the gear ratio isn't supplied. Perhaps some programs have search in their eval. You do less nodes if you count a three-ply search as one node. Who knows? bruce
