Hi Peter,

I basically agree with you.  There is no right or wrong since it is
simply a convention we might agree upon but I do argue that it would
make node counts incompatible between programs.  If my program does
a static test and does not count the node and someone elses plays
the illegal move and gets captured then the same exact calculation
is taking place in both programs with 2 different notions of how
many nodes were calculated.   But as you say, this is splitting
hairs and the numbers are very similar anyway.
