I have not receive my copy of Shredder 5 yet, however, I believe that the cause for many mistrial of reading the CD can be assossiated with the type of CD-Rom one may have in the system. Not all CD-Roms are created equal, thus, some CD-Roms may have difficult reading the copy protection part of the CD which thus leads to failure to authenticate. Some old models of CD-Roms are not capable of reading copy protection from CD's. So if that happens, I'd suggest trying a different model of CD-Rom. Regards, Laurence
