>OK, now clear for me. >Thanks ! > >Frank In my opinion the best free available library for chess programming is the chesslib library from Remi Coulom. Last year in november Frank Schneider and I decided to make a major rewrite of Gromit. The programming language should be C++ and so we take a closer look to Remi´s library. By using the chesslib we could concentrate our energy on writing the engine. All important things as Nalimov TB access, connection to winboard for the engine and reading book from an pgn-file are in the chesslib. MoveNow-command and analyse is supported by the library and you are free to use any board representation in your engine. The library didn´t make any restrictions to the engine. Every programmer who would like to start chess programming should take a look to the chesslib. It´s easy to use and the code is very clear and well documented. I´m wondering if Gromit is the only chessengine that uses the chesslib from Remi Coulom ?! Regards Kai
