That is what the default settings are designed for: optimum play in all situations. However, more than just "a lot of test personalities are needed". Just the number of possible personality settings alone is massive. Then you have to test against many other opponents at many different time controls. In other words, believing that your settings are better than the default is relatively easy. PROVING it, with any reasonable degree of certainty, on the other hand.... jm
