I have windows up and running again by reinstalling the files I mentioned above plus one more mentioned as missing which showed up after installing the 3 above. Problem is I believe it's a virus and wonder how do I get rid of the virus now? I'm trying to install McAfee virus shield from McAfee Office 2000 but I don't know if it's too late or if it will help. I just ran the system file checker and it did not show any more problems but I worried it will show up again if I don't do something else. Jim
