Here is a list of colors from the so-called "browser safe palette": http://www.icdchess.com/color.html As you can see, a lot of them are unreadable, difficult to distinguish from black in this font, or just look pukey or muddy. If too many people dislike the colors, we can go back to all black, or maybe just find a couple of good colors we can all live with, and not use so many different levels of color. We probably should avoid the blue and violet link colors for obvious reasons. I may also be able to offer various color options customizable by each user (as well as other viewing and filtering options), by using cookies (gasp!), or possibly by storing settings for each user on the server. But these ideas would have to wait for a different time of year.
