Go up one level in this thread

I think it is quite a useful feature given that lots of folks have gotten into a lazy habit of quoting everything from the start of every thread, causing the thread data size to grow quadratically with the number of messages in the thread. (If you ever get short of disk space for these messages, just remove 'Reply with quoting' option, it will probably cut the redundant data in-flow to one tenth of the current one.) The folks who don't like these colors could in principle set the browser to ignore page color and use custom colors. Unfortunately, the diagrams would then become unusable with the browser color override since diagrams have square colors coded as attributes instead of a having a separate bitmap for the dark and light squares. I had suggested earlier it would be better to change over the diagram coding to the latter method, making it more flexible for the users. And in this color debate it would make the problem a moot point since one could always use their own colors and view it, via browser color override, exactly as before the colors were introduced.
