Hi Guys! I would like to suggest a chess programming FAQ. I know, it am volunteering work for others, but it seems this would be a GREAT advantage to all chess programmers. Instead of having to rely on one person coming up with a book, I would like to suggest that anyone interested submit articles to a CP-FAQ commitee or designee for review, then it could simply be added to a collection of article kept in alarge zip file. For example, something like this is done for CLAX, the x86 assembly language news group. It's called ASM SNIPPETS and has a HUGE collection of source files, articles, etc. re: x86 assembly programming. This allows different aspects of similiar topics to be expressed, and I've found it invaluable in the past on many levels. The topics could be broken down easily into categories (perhaps) and psuedo code (or real code) exampel could be given. Just an idea, and I appreciate reading all the helpful replies and suggestions by the top enders, but sometimes I simply cannot follow the reply because it assumes a certain level of chess programming understanding already. Finally, I just wanted to thank ICD for this great little 'moderated' chess message area. I really got turned off by the arguing and name calling and childishness in RGCC. This message group is far more interesting and well behaved. Thanks, Ed
