(and I used the tablebases concept, as I could have used any other). If you make something public, do expect free software to use it soon. Furthermore, I see no point in making public the protocol, and not the GUI. Winboard adapting to UCI is not very different than writing a new GUI using UCI, IMO, and that was what you expected, am I wrong? José C.
