Reply to Amir Ban's ECM98 Errata postings.
Here I'll include Book lines that may clarify certain
unresolved positions. I'll also include a description called "faulty
defence" as some "best moves" were only good because of a poor
defence (I won't post all the poor moves as this would become tedious
but would post if some were curious). No reply to Amir's analysis
will mean that the Book lines offer no help(in general I'm finding the
majority of Junior's analysis on target).
FD=faulty defence
ECM98
11 - Nxg4 is already established here as crushing.
28 - FD-The book line plays fxg5? instead of f5!(will need to
refer to Amir's postings on Junior's analysis)
29 - Rebel likes Rf4 so there are 3 winning lines here.
68 - FD 1.Bd3 Qxc3 2.Rh4 Qc5 3.Bxf6 Bxf6? (gxf6!)
123 - big piece exchanges to a won ending. Book: 1.Nxd6 Rxf3 2.Nxe8 Bxb2
3.Qxb2 Kg8 4.Rd8! Rf8 5.Rxc8 Rxe8 6.Rxe8 Qxe8 7.Qe2 Nf6 8.Qxe8
Nxe8 9.Bxc6!
133 - Rxe4 is best for this position. Book 1.Rxe4 dxe4 2.Nxe4 Qe1 3.Kh2
Qxc1 4.Nf6+ +-
137 - Rc3 is also good
142 - Book: 1. .. d3+ 2.Kh1 Qf2 3.Qxd3 Bxe4! 4.fxe4 Qxf1 5.Qxf1 Ra8
0-1 Very nice.
148 - FD - Book: 1. .. Rfc8 2.fxe5 Nf4 3. Now the book gives two losing
defences,
Bd3? and exd6? but Bf3 looks like it holds on.
