snips: >>Jim, I'd like to agree. However, I have created one pgn file of size 3,642,706 >>bytes that will load when starting from an empty book. I've noticed two error >>messages at different times. One something like: an Error occurred while >>importing the pgn, and another that I can quote: Import Error: the PGN file >>contains too many moves. >> <<Thanks for the info. I guess I'll have to look for something like that in my 400Kb file that would not load. As John says, the above PGN is no good so it's understandable.>> I just used a large capacity (well larger that Win notepad.exe) and cut the pgn into two or three sections at a time to zero in on the offening lines. I hindsight I can see it was somewhat unfair to say I imported a 3 meg file, as that doesn't compensate for commentary and/or long header info, ect... I'm sure your 400kb file will be easy enough for you to go over if you find some interest in doing so. I'd be interested in your findings and obseravtions even if speculation. Sometimes speculate and experiment is all one can do.
