  It can be bad if A post something, B anwers, C answers "you both are wrong,
this is how it is", D posts "hey guys, all of you are wrong because...".
  It is good in those cases to keep the whole thread in the same post, just to
be able to "refresh your mind" without the need to go back in the thread.
  Same thing if you go to read a new post in a very long thread. You don't want
to read every post again because you don't remember something.
