This is rare and can be dealt with a simple copy and paste. The point was to
deal better with the vast majority of cases. If you think sniping 3 or more ">"
is too agressive, then make it 5. Alternatively, it can be implemented as a
filter than can be turned on/off or adjusted. I don't see your objection as
being much of an obstacle.
