If the White and Black engines both have pondering on, AND you have either checked the "Chessmaster" checkbox in the Thinking Lines window OR you have the Visual Thinking window open. This, of course, will slow things down quite noticeably. But, in a sense, it IS what you asked the program to do.... jm
