Tonight I finally made the time to play a game between Chess System Tal II and
Gambit Tiger 1.0. I watched the game sitting behind the screen as a couch potato
but it was very enjoying and interesting - yet a bit quickly done with.
I gave both sides 30 minutes for the whole game and gave GT 48Mb hash and the
CT-opening book. I used the auto hash settings for CS Tal II
My machine is a PIII@750 oc'd to 840MHz with 512Mb ram.
Promptly CS Tal II chose a Bird and got into queen trouble after a daring
exploration with it.
My first impression was that CS Tal II got a strong attack for some material,
but it couldn't get the attack running properly.
I didn't like the 9. Rg1 solution and suggest d3 at first glance.
Also for some reason :) 12. d3 wasn't the right solution, although I agreed
wholeheartedly at first.
The game *was* very spectacular though. I believe I saw some other games between
the two here, but I can't remember the posting date.
For the record: I'm not proving anything for any engine: I just wanted to see a
game between two daredevils. I did.
