Did you try to reinstall the original mfc42.dll from Windows ME? It's in the Win_12.cab file and you can restore it by using sfc.exe (I hope still available under ME) Further more there''s a program called "dependency walker" from MS which let you see all dependencies running when a program starts. It's part of the resource kit or find it on http://www.dependencywalker.com/ Jeroen ;-}
