Unfortunately, this practice of yours does not work! People will snip lines with
a single ">" without indicating having done so. A splendid example of this was
supplied by *you* in this very same thread! I follow the personal rule of never
snipping such lines, because people (including me) do skip messages.

Such snipping can have the effect of making the other person look like an idiot
unless the original unsnipped version is read. I consider such snipping a type
of subtle troll along with declaring an idea bad without giving a reason. You've
done both in this thread!
