I've read a few other usenet groups, and I doubt that the chess usenet groups
are that special.

I read another one that has someone worse than anyone who plagued r.g.c.c.
There is a guy who forges post headers in order to try to make it look like
other people are making racist and anti-semitic comments, and so on.

And once when I was trying to get help dealing with someone who was attacking
CCC, I posted in a usenet group that seemed devoted to the topic of combating
net cranks. It became apparent, after a few days of reading that group, that
they had their own resident asshole.

I don't think that my maxim that each usenet group is always plagued by at least
one asshole is true, but I do think that it is almost true.
