I think you have the events confused.  1987 doesn't sound right for Dallas,
but I could be wrong.  I think 1986 was Dallas.  There was a WCCC that
summer and then the ACM event won by Belle that fall where we couldn't attend
as we couldn't get machine time.

I think the game you are quoting was played in Orlando.

If I recall the position correctly, Ne6 wins for white.  CB had seen a + score,
and deep thought had failed low expecting Ne6.  However, some sort of non-
reproducible parallel search glitch made it play Na4 instead of Ne6.  We could
never reproduce Na4 of course...  and blamed it on an unknown bug.  I found
the bug a year or two later when we moved to an even faster machine.
