Yes. Cooling is *very* important for athlons. This can sometimes be diagnosed by noticing whether there are more problems with case closed than when open to the air. Also, if problems only appear when the computer has been running for more than short time. Note, with athlons, you do not have to wait very long for the temperature to get up there. BTW, I witnessed the discovery of a PII cpu fan that was causing problems for years at work, because it would work about 95% of the time, but not 100% which is very bad and very hard to catch. Nasty.
