I use multiprocessors hence my need. Most users will find that win2k, while more stable then win9x doesn't run alot of multimedia based software, ie games. Chessmaster runs fine under win2k for me. As to upgrading vs full install, upgrading worked ok for me, but like any brand of windows, it really like to have a clean install. JW
