You'd be surprised how many people feel they have the right to have their
picture in the program just because they found a bug or some quirk. One person
(who claimed to be the South Carolina State Champion of 1990) found a way to
draw Chessmaster in any time control in 8 moves with White. He claimed "This
discovery should qualify me as one of your computer personalities ( picture and
all )." We, of course, thanked him for his contribution, and closed off the draw
in the book.
And, just for the curious, the line is:
1.Nf3 d5
2.g3 Nf6
3.Bg2 c6
4.d4 Bf5
5.Nh4 Be6 {Chessmaster leaves book after this move}
6.Nf3 Bf5 {Chessmaster now plays only for the draw -- its PV is only one ply
deep!}
7.Nh4 Be6
8.Nf3 Bf5 {Draw by 3X}
