You're referring to the initial pairings, I assume? The initial pairings are, of
course, based on rating, as are all pairings of players within the same score
group.

But the last "tie-breaker" for sorting players (which is the ONLY one that
applies for the first round if all players have the same rating) is
alphabetical, from what I recall. Therefore, I'm guessing that you have Test1
through Test8, meaning 1 plays 5, 2 plays 6, etc....
