What do you expect for a $30 handheld?  This unit is aimed at beginning chess
players anyway.  I wouldn't be surprised if it had the same program as the
original Mattel handheld LCD chess game of almost 20 years ago.

1 move forward?  Must have been on "newcomer" level...
