Considering that earlier this year, but may late last year one chess program checkmated another without ever leaving its book, then at least some of the game is now history, but I do not believe in books that large. The whole point of a computer chess program is that the program should calculate the moves and find a winning combination on its own. I would like to see 'book moves' limited in the future to only 10 or 15 plys only for the opening moves and the rest of the game solved by the programs. IHMO Bill
