hi enrique, >>In the beta group we played hundreds of games with both Tigers and I am not very >>convinced about Gambit Tiger being #1 in comp-comp, and this +50 over F6a looks >>exaggerated to me, but I guess it is possible. Now imagine the Tigers with >>tablebase access... yes, at the beginning of the tests i also didn´t think that gambit is better than the normal version. but what i have seen so far, i have to admit that i wasn´t right with my opinion in the beginning. after all what i have seen now, i think that gambit is the stronger engine. it´s better on tournaments and it wins more clearly against the most opponents even it has some problems against special programs. >I missed that the +50 was over F6/F6a. Then it is unclear, since F6 is about 50 >points weaker than F6a. So, Gambit Tiger about 20 points better than F6a? Could >be, or maybe not. If Gambit would use tablebases I would be more convinced. hmm, i think gambit is about 30-40 better than f6a. the rating for frtiz6/6a in the cb-list is slightly weaker than for f6a because about 10-15% of the games are with the old f6 version. the rest is f6a. marcus
