The two crown division has completed. I must admit that Crux really got the
short end of the stick, and should probably not have been included in the
contest. The version used for the contest was very unstable under Windows NT and
Windows 2K, and (in fact) crashed in each and every 4 game cluster (sometimes as
early as the first game).
I expect that newer versions of Crux are much more stable. Therefore, I don't
think that the rating applied to Crux from this contest should be considered as
valid.
The winner of the two crown division (Freyr) squeezed out a victory by the
narrowest of margins (1/2 point) and so this race was far closer than the one
crown division (which was a run-away for TSCP).
Keep in mind that these experiments are played by versions of these programs
that were available 6 months ago (no upgrades are performed during the contest).
Many of the programs could be improved considerably by now.
