Dear Mr. Walker, That is true. The real question is whether we will be able to keep up with the computers. It will soon be possible for us to play against near-perfect chess programs and we will always lose. I am not sure that most of us will want to play as much then. Now we can at least hope to find weaknesses in the program and capitalize on them. We only lose 99.9% of the time now. Is there an end to this madness?, Tim On December 20, 2000 at 23:34:03, James T.
