It works fine with his ASUS motherboard. It could be a problem that you got an adulterated chip, that is, a chip that has been somehow tempered with and hence causing problems. Also, I have a colleague at work who uses AMD Athlon chip in his home computer and he has no issues at all. In the future I would advise you to buy your chip(s) from a reliable source. Best of luck.
