AMD cpu's work fine. i do only buy AMD cpu's,
no intel anymore. i don't wanna support a company that exploits
the customers by producing weak and buggy cpu's that are expensive.

may intel die soon.

i had k5-100, k6-200, k6-2/400, k6-2/500, k6-3/400 and duron 950 cpu's
so far and they all work very well, very fast and don't heat themselves
much, even not in the summer.

i have no crashes due to cpu.
and i do buy cheap and/or expensive MB. no matter what you do: AMD works
fine.

if i can help you - let me know what your problem is.

concerning chessmaster, which version do you have problems with ?
i have chessmaster6000 and it works well on all AMD machines.
chessmaster itself can crash, but this is very rare.
i had positions where you were able to reproduce the crash no matter
which machine or which cpu.
so i think it is chessmaster6000 itself that sometimes is making problems,
NOT the cpu.

your chessmaster moves instantly ? what is your time control ?!
what is the hash-setting ?
and how much ram do you have, which windows version do you use ?!
