The differences between all versions after "a" are very small, so there is no reason for different names. I don´t know, but maybe the latest version from juli got an change concerning the engine-symbol. You do not notice this but for a lot of people this seems to be a reason for some hype?!?!? Relax and take some of the versions from 2000, all of them are nearly equal, only Deep Fritz looks stronger (on singles too!). The latest so called a-version you will find on every newer servicepack.
