I also did not like this behaviour. I.e., depending on the time control,
there will be problems, with Winboard engines, that do not implement
"Move Now". However, I have to admit, that I recently changed Yace to exactly
the behaviour you are complaining about. The reason is, that when you resign
without making a move, there is no way to give the opponent the joy of mating
Yace. So I thought, that resigning while making a move, might be an advantage.
But I will reconsider this, and probably change to resigning without making
a move again.
