This is my personal experience with CM8K personalities. I do not find them
boring, I find them very interesting. For instance Kenji that has a rating of
1756 in my PC is extremely good with the Knights and if you you do not take his
knights out of the game in the first few moves it will be a pain to win. There
is also for instace T.C that is very easy win the game however when he is almost
beaten he will defend himself like a true CM. So you have to be careful not to
get to excited and make sure you do not stale mate him at the end. What is very
intersting to me is how you can learn to beat a computer personality once you
learn its weaknesses. Even though the ratings of 3 of the personalities + CM
were scaled against humans, the ratings of some of the personalities are not
accurate against humans. For instance Kenji should be rated much higher and
Nicolai much lower if we assume that the player does not know its weaknesses. I
agree with you that some times you think that you are going to show off your
Chess skils against a 1700 personality and you end up playing a 60 move game, it
makes you feel some how dumb. Happy Holidays and enjoy CM8K.........Luis
