Try to disable reuse of the engine. This ought to clear things up. What
happens is that one process tries to make a move, but is told to "start a
new game". The move gets back to xboard after the new game was sent, so
if it happens to be legal, xboard will send it to the other engine and screw
things up.

If you disable engine reuse, I don't think it will happen as the engine is
actually killed and a new one started, which cleans up the pipes between
xboard/winboard and the engine...

I think it is something like /reuseChessProgram false for xboard, I am not
sure about winboard.
