Given two players with all other things equal, the one who sees further ahead would win most of the time. Perhaps the person you know who can play blindfold isn't better than you, but certainly he is better than he would be if couldn't visualize so well. In my case, perhaps you are right...there may be better ways to spend my time to improve my chess, but this wasn't really the point of my original post. Thanks for the advice, but I'm still interested in everyone's opinions on software for blindfold chess, not the best way to improve. Jeff
