I'm not sure about your problem, but I basically built my own computers. I
recently installed an AMD K-7 Duron cpu, overclocked from 600Mhz to
1000Mhz. I've had no problems at all with it, and it is quite fast.

As far as compatibility goes, I've had *zero* problems with the AMD K-7 class
cpu.
