I've never been very >succesful with re-installs. Good luck. Reformatting is no big deal--and it's a lot less of a deal when you've got two partitions. Anybody who messes around with loading lots of programs on her or his computer should be prepared to have to reformat at any time. It takes less time to reformat than figure out the problems in most cases. Not that I wouldn't try your advice first--but in my experience, after you replace that file, then it's missing another one, and another one, and another one. rc
