This is an old problem with Chessbase engines and it happens after the first time they access tablebases. In the following games memory is being constantly swapped to disk and NPS goes down quite a bit. A long time ago I emailed Matthias and Amir about it. Shredder may also slow down a lot during an auto232 session. According to Stefan, this won't happen if Shredder runs under Windows NT or W2000. Enrique
