I have asked myself the SSDF to NOT test Tiger as it is. That is the reason why
they have delayed the test.
I think it's just fair. There is going to be a free public update for the Tiger
engine and everybody is going to be able to download it, including the SSDF of
course.
You have asked them to wait for the patches of some other programs. That's
exactly what they are doing for Tiger!
I guess that if the author of Gandalf had asked them to wait before testing
Gandalf, then the SSDF would probably have delayed the test...
I must add that the patch is likely to include another significant improvement
in playing strength which is going to be available for all Tiger users, so it's
much better to wait a little bit to take the real measure of Tiger's strength.

But Ed accepted! So where is the problem?
If the author sees no problem, where is the problem? And in Thoralf's comments
the concerns about Rebel and the autoplayer is clearly stated. So what?

Maybe the author is the one who should ask for this, don't you think?

The SSDF list is the best indicator we have. I have a lot of respect for the
people of the SSDF list and I think it's extremely unfair to criticize them.
They are doing a great job, period.
