No, you are wrong. And you should definitely have asked me before.
I have asked the SSDF to delay the test of Tiger 13 because I want first to fix
a problem in the program: Tiger too easily lets the opponent replay the same
lost game.
It happened last year when Tiger 12 lost 12 times the same opening against
Junior6.
The book learning algorithm hasn't been totally fixed and I do not want the same
problem to happen again. This problem will probably never hurt the people who
have bought the program, because most of the users do not play long series of
autoplayed matches. But it is definitely going to show up in the (long) SSDF
matches.
So I have asked Thoralf to delay the test, for this reason, and he kindly
accepted.
The SSDF is in my opinion totally independant of any software company.
And one thing you should remember: last year, just before Christmas, Tiger 12
topped the SSDF list for the first time. One month before Christmas. So you
could as well forget your theory about a Christmas ChessBase/SSDF conspiracy.
