It's not irrelevant because of the time controls. It is irrelevant because of
the number of games. Last night I played Shredder 4 against Shredder 5 at blitz
just to see if there really is an improvement. In the first 10 games Shredder 4
won +5 -1 =4 (7-3). When I woke up this morning the score was:
+32 -21 =27 (45.5-34.5) with Shredder 5 winning! If I had trusted the first 10
games I would have been very disappointed in Shredder5.
Another warning! The ERT is making errors in scoring mates. Check your games
when there is a mate involved. Most games are shortened by the "Threshold
score" but if it does go to mate there may be an error in the way it awards the
win.
