Guess it is a world computer chess championship. jaap sits in front of the programmers. and says: i have decided that we adjudicate this game. the game is , seen from chess knowledge, a draw. i do adjudicate it as a draw ! next day jaap adjudicates again. again the same program is involved. from chess knowledge (jaap says) this game is a draw. i have one question: does your program understand the knowledge ? aha . it doesn't. so its not a draw. you will lose. i do adjudicate the game is lost. thank you ladies and gentleman. the programmer complains. ONE MOMENT he says. yesterday you ajudicated on base of chess knowledge, today you adjudicate on base of the question: is the program understanding the chess-knowledge. i feel pisssed. both days you decide against my program. one day i get only a draw although the opponent would have lost the game, if we would have continued. but you said: its a game from chess point of view. And today, i HAVE the draw and you decide that you adjudicate on base of programming. ----------------------------------- i would prefer to act fair and not spontaneously. but - >So it's better to wait for the update. only if all other programs have to wait too. if they make an exception for tiger/theron, and other programs lose points for similar stuff, the whole procedure is infuencing the rating. all animals are equal. but some animals are more equal?
