A good program at a reasonable price is 'Extreme Chess'. I believe
it's an early version of Fritz. It's a great, plain interface and will
provide a good game analysis. I don't own any later Fritz versions, but
I'd say the later ones will only do the same job at a higher price.
You'll be able to create your own database of your games, with your
own commentary, great for improving players.
Let's face it, the later programs are stronger mostly as a result
of hardware improvements.
