If you don't accept >the methods used by SSDF that's fair enough, but criticising no matter what they >do isn't. > >Mogens. in the days BEFORE the autoplaye was invented, the ssdf tested playing with hands. like any of us. nobody complained about this. if it is known a program has strange effects, why not testing it with hands ? but they have become to lazy. maybe all of us have become too lazy. i see no problem in playing 100 games or more with century3 with hands. in fact as a tester you do with many programs. virtual chess. chessmaster. other programs. how many games i have been operated manually in my life? ough ! how many girls told me: the computers or me ! and i decided for the computers. but then the autoplayer came and it socialized us as normal individuals. ok - almost normal :-) i would make an exception and try out century3 with hands. and if the score changes drastically, i would make another entry: rebelcentury3 autoplayed ansd another rebelcentury3 played with hands. and than the problem would be ok. but - i see - there are more important things to do with you hands... e.g. washing your car... or cooking... or ---
