I have uploaded a new revision of my free chess database program CDB for Windows 95 and NT to the usual site: http://reality.sgi.com/pmk_craypark This revision includes some important new capabilities: - a "Crafty Co-Pilot" window for continuous commentary - database compression of moves, cutting storage requirements by more than half - keyboard data entry during chessboard setup - old-style English Descriptive notation - better support of ECO codes, Crafty position scores, and dates Judicious use of the new compression feature allows CDB to give the best of both worlds: the power of a positional database with the efficient storage utilization of a game tree database program. -Peter
